About Us

WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
Californians for Balanced Energy Solutions is a coalition of natural and renewable gas users. Our members include families, small and large commercial businesses, industrial users, local governments and nonprofit organizations. We know how vital natural and renewable gas are for keeping energy costs down, maintaining customer choice, contributing to a strong economy and helping California achieve its environmental targets. Our goals are to educate Californians about natural and renewable gas and support balanced energy policies that recognize the importance of gas for our economy and a cleaner environment.
We are set to surpass ... reduction goals a decade early. Natural gas is the only fossil fuel that actually increases in demand under modeled scenarios that keep the rise in the global average temperature to below the critical 2°C threshold.

CORE PRINCIPLES
CORE PRINCIPLES
Clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy is critical to
California’s economic and environmental well-being.
Today, all California households and businesses can choose
the type of energy that meets their specific needs. And, in
opinion survey after survey, California voters
overwhelmingly support continued energy choice.
California’s future will require balanced energy solutions. The
state should support policies to ensure all forms of clean
energy solutions are available to customers.
Policies should promote reliable, affordable, and
environmentally responsible forms of energy that meet
California’s diverse needs, including both air quality and
climate change emissions reduction goals.
Californians shouldn’t have to choose between what’s good for
the environment and what makes sense. Clean, safe, affordable
and reliable Natural Gas and Renewable Gas can do both — meet
customer needs and protect California’s environment. These
clean energy resources should continue to be available for
customers to choose.
For California, Natural Gas and Renewable Gas should continue
to be part of California’s balanced energy portfolio. These clean
energy resources complement California’s clean electricity,
including solar, wind, and hydro-generated power. And, they
can ensure the state’s climate goals are met, while California
remains the Golden State.
